Wayne Akers Ford - 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor

Introducing the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor, the epitome of off-road prowess among midsize trucks, delivering unparalleled power and performance. Meticulously designed and engineered, it represents a new pinnacle in off-road capability. At the core of every Ford Raptor performance vehicle lies its suspension system. Ford recently detailed the intricacies of the Ranger Raptor’s exclusive 2.5-inch FOX Live Valve shocks, showcasing their dynamic functionality in elevating off-road experiences. Offering a captivating x-ray perspective, Ford illustrates how the internal bypass shocks actively regulate damping across challenging terrains.

The Ranger’s cutting-edge shocks feature coil-overs at the front and piggyback reservoirs at the rear, effectively minimizing heat build-up for continuous, uninterrupted performance. The FOX Live Valve Internal Bypass system adapts damping performance according to the Ranger Raptor’s Drive Modes, including Normal, Tow/Haul, Sport, Slippery, Off-Road, Rock Crawl, and Baja. Each mode is meticulously crafted to enhance on-road comfort, off-road control, capability, and ride quality at both high and low speeds.

To withstand the rigors of demanding off-road conditions, key components such as front frame rails, front shock towers, rear shock brackets, suspension mounting points, and other critical areas have undergone specialized reinforcement, ensuring that the Ranger Raptor is well-equipped to tackle the most punishing terrain.

The latest iteration of the Ranger Raptor bids farewell to the previous-generation’s turbodiesel four-cylinder, embracing a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 powerhouse generating 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the drivetrain boasts an electronically controlled on-demand two-speed transfer case and locking differentials for each axle.

Ensuring optimal power delivery to the terrain, the truck is equipped with a set of 33-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain K03 tires mounted on 17-inch wheels, with optional Beadlocks available at an additional cost of $1595. The Raptor’s off-road capabilities are further enhanced by the inclusion of Trail Control, a system that takes charge of throttle and brake control, allowing the driver to focus solely on steering. Additionally, the truck features robust skid plates safeguarding the engine, transfer case, and fuel tank against potential impacts from jagged rocks. For those contemplating parking this formidable mid-sized muscle truck in their garage, the starting price is $56,960, including the $1,595 destination fee.
