As widely recognized, the sixth-generation Ford Bronco was purpose-built with formidable off-road capabilities in mind, and the automaker has been actively promoting such activities for Bronco owners. Recently, Ford unveiled the Bronco Trail App, which features a collection of approximately 1,200 handpicked off-road trail maps categorized by location, difficulty, and length. This app allows users to explore points of interest, scenic viewpoints, and photo opportunities, as well as save their own routes. It provides access to both 2D topographical maps and satellite imagery, which can be downloaded and used offline. Additionally, to safeguard against potential off-road damage, Ford has introduced the new Ford Protect Off-Road Use Option, as reported by Bronco Nation.

Ford Protect Off-Road Use Option

The Ford Protect Off-Road Use Option offers extended warranty protection to owners of both Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco Sport vehicles. This coverage encompasses instances such as damage to their wheels and tires, minor windshield chips and cracks, or small bodywork dents that may occur during their off-road adventures. This coverage, which must be added during the initial three-year, 36,000-mile factory warranty period of the vehicle, comprises three distinct options. The initial option, known as TireCARE, provides coverage for wheel and tire damage. It applies as long as the tire treads are not worn down to less than 3/32″ depth at the time of the damage, and it excludes damages resulting from road conditions at construction sites, vandalism, theft, or ordinary wear and tear.

DentCARE offers coverage for dings, provided they do not exceed a four-inch diameter, are not the result of vandalism, cannot be repaired through paintless dent repair, and do not risk damaging the vehicle’s paint. In contrast, WindshieldCARE handles chips and cracks that are smaller than six inches, excluding complete windshield replacements, damages from sources such as hail or vandalism, and any damage affecting areas beyond the front windshield.

2024 Ford Bronco

The Bronco is available in both two-door and four-door configurations, offering an optional manual transmission and four-wheel drive. Even the base Bronco trim boasts impressive performance, driven by a 300-horsepower turbocharged inline-four engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, with a seven-speed manual transmission also available. For those seeking a more potent powertrain, there’s a 330-horsepower twin-turbo V-6. It’s worth noting that the Bronco Raptor, separately, takes it to the next level with 418 horsepower but represents a different category. Inside the Bronco, the interior is rugged and easy to clean. On the road between campsites, the Bronco effortlessly transitions between being a fun lifestyle vehicle and a capable rock-crawling tool. For the 2024 model year the Bronco sees minimal updates, primarily marked by Ford discontinuing the base trim. The standard inclusion of a 12.0-inch infotainment screen is one notable change, and the Bronco Badlands trim gains a robust bumper to complement its array of features.
