Ford Pro Introduces Digital Rearview Mirror Technology

Ford Pro continues to innovate, offering commercial buyers plenty of options to enhance their Ford vehicles. To help improve safety and productivity, Ford Pro introduced a new Digital Rearview Mirror for the 2023 Transit and 2023 E-Transit vans. The all-new Digital Rearview mirror comes with a high-definition monitor tasked with displaying a panoramic view behind the van. This feature allows drivers to spot pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles–even when the cargo, passengers, windowless rear doors, and bulkhead are in the way.
Like we mentioned, the Digital Rearview mirror is available both on the Ford 2023 Transit and E-Transit vans, except when there’s a Chassis Cab or Cutaway configuration. The new digital unit goes on top of where the regular standard rearview mirror would normally be placed, except it provides the driver with an improved view of what exactly is behind the van. Owners can also adjust the brightness and angle control of the digital mirror, making it easy to fit the mirror and get a perfect view regardless of the situation. More and more automakers are introducing digital rearview mirrors as the benefits of the latest technology are quite obvious.
Of course, a feature like this is exceptionally useful in the Transit model as it’s customarily a vehicle designed to carry either passengers or cargo which actively restricts any semblance of a rearward view. Even the most modern standard backup cameras cannot provide a wide view for drivers to figure out what lurks behind their vehicles.
2023 Ford Transit: What’s New
Ford introduced the Transit Trail trim for the 2023 lineup, targeting #vanlife enthusiasts with a ready-made campervan directly from the factory. Designed to be upfitted, the Transit Trail offers buyers a living space behind the front seats. All Transit Trail vehicles come standard with a lifted suspension, rugged exterior styling, and all-terrain tires. Additionally,Ford also widened the vehicle and raised the ground clearance so making it to remote campsites is a breeze. Buyers can expect a turbocharged V6 beneath the hood of the Transit Trail, while all-wheel drive comes standard.
Those who aren’t into DIY can count on Ford to link them up with various customization companies that use the Transit as the base to build out their dream camper on wheels. The rest of the 2023 Transit lineup sees minor improvements as the vehicle is phased out and makes way for the battery-electric E-Transit. For the 2023 model year, Ford now offers a larger 12.0-inch touchscreen display unit that’s paired up with Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system, able to support over-the-air updates and keep the software up-to-date.
