Wayne Akers Ford - New Ford Blue Oval Logo

Ford recently revealed the updated 2024 model of its beloved F-150 pickup truck. Among the notable updates, Ford discreetly introduced a revamped version of its iconic Blue Oval logo, adorning the fascia of the redesigned truck.

The updated emblem embraces a more minimalist design by eliminating the slender silver oval outline that once encircled it. The “Ford” script has been enlarged to occupy the available space more prominently. Both the chrome border surrounding the logo’s periphery and the script itself have transitioned to a white finish, imparting a subtle touch of nostalgia. Additionally, the revised logo appears to adopt a slightly flatter, two-dimensional appearance in comparison to its predecessor.

Curiously, Ford chose not to highlight the updated logo in its official press materials for the 2024 F-150, and we have not come across this revised Blue Oval on any prior Ford models. During a media event for the 2024 F-150, Rob Brancheau, Ford’s senior designer for colors and materials, confirmed to Car and Driver that the logo is indeed a recent addition. While the precise timeline for the logo’s integration across the entire Ford lineup remains uncertain, it is reasonable to assume that it will be introduced as other models undergo facelifts or transition to new generations.

In addition to the updated emblem, the 2024 F-150 showcases refreshed styling and boasts dual 12-inch screens as standard, with the option for an available head-up display. This truck is brimming with cutting-edge technology, including the enhanced BlueCruise hands-free driving system and a novel tailgate featuring an independently opening central door. Expect sales to commence in early 2024.

2024 Ford F-150 Build & Price Tool Now Available

The build-and-price configurator for the 2024 Ford F-150 is now available, allowing enthusiasts to explore Ford’s claims of a simplified ordering process. The automaker reduced the number of customizable combinations by a staggering 90 percent compared to last year (2022).

2024 Ford F-150 Interior Highlights

Although the interior of the F-150 may appear familiar, Ford has implemented an entirely new electrical architecture for the 2024 model. This advanced technology is showcased through various screens, including a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system that now comes standard on every trim. This screen retains the Sync 4 software seen in the pre-refresh model. Alongside it, you’ll find a new 12-inch digital instrument cluster, also included as a standard feature. And for those who crave even more digital information, Ford is offering a head-up display as an optional feature.

This new electrical architecture not only enhances the F-150’s technological offerings but also introduces new anti-theft and vehicle recovery services, not present in the pre-refresh F-150. Additionally, it paves the way for a 5G-powered hotspot, enabling you to connect up to 10 devices to the in-car WiFi simultaneously. Ford has plans to roll out more over-the-air updates for vehicles equipped with this 5G connection in the future.
