New “Coastal Limited Package” Available On 2022 Ford Mustang

Ford has been gradually releasing information related to its two-door Mustangs, in particular, about new appearance packages. Besides the White Edition, Stealth Edition, and California Special Edition packages, Ford is releasing yet another appearance package, and it’s called the “Coastal Limited Package” and it will be on all 2022 models. While the 2021 Mustang Mach-E is at the forefront of Ford’s marketing efforts along with the F-150 Lightning and Maverick hybrid pickup truck, the company doesn’t want its iconic two-door Mustang to stay behind. The addition of these appearance packages is in store for the sporty coupe, at least for now. There are rumors online that suggest the two-door Mustang will get a significant update in 2023, but this is not officially confirmed yet.
The Coastal Limited Package
The new “Coastal Limited Package” is available on the EcoBoost Premium trim and it includes a set of 19-inch aluminum wheels painted in “Tarnished Black.” There is an illuminated “Coast Limited” sill plate on the door sills and a pedestal-mounted rear spoiler. Package pricing is not available at the moment, but we can expect more information to be available by the end of the year. In addition to the Coastal Limited Package, consumers now have the option to pick from a total of four appearance packages.
Two-Door Mustang Redesign Coming Soon?
Most of these appearance packages could be a precursor to what is to come in the future for the Ford Mustang nameplate. The 2022 model Mustang could be the last of the S550 generation, and according to Ford Authority, the 2023 model is expected to be a drastically re-engineered muscle car that may even have all-wheel-drive capability. Although the majority of the information regarding the future of the two-door Mustang is a bit murky at the moment, we can expect Ford to release more details at the end of the year and well into next year.
In addition, since Dodge is coming out with its batch of all-electric muscle cars by 2024, Ford is likely to “up the ante” and bring the competition to Dodge with a possible electric muscle car of its own design. Even though the Mustang Mach-E is out, it is not considered a genuine muscle car among performance enthusiasts since the vehicle is considered an EV Crossover.
